Danny and John met in Palmdale, California in 2004. Having similar taste in music, both were interested in forming a band. Eventually, a mutual friend took it upon herself to put them in the same room, and there they formed their first band "AmpleFire". In 2005, AmpleFire moved to Austin, Texas. Although they had some success, the band disbanded four years later.
Taking a break from music, Danny moved back to Palmdale, while John stayed to pursue school. Two years later, Danny moved to Seattle and invited John to visit. Unhappy with school, John decided to take the open invitation and visited in hopes of forming a new band with Danny. John fell in love with Seattle immediately. Before heading back home to Austin, he asked Danny if he was interested in forming a new band. After thinking it over, Danny decided to give music another shot, and "ALKI" was formed.
For almost a year, they played open mics and bars while also looking for a drummer: in comes Josh. Coincidentally, he had a similar disbanding bring him to Seattle. After years of touring with "The Perfect Pill," in his home country of Lithuania, Josh moved to Seattle for a fresh start. Keeping busy, he played with several bands in search of a good fit. He later found ALKI in a craigslist ad. One jam session later, and ALKI had a new drummer. Shortly after acquiring Josh, ALKI found Sean Acosta looking to join up with a team of musicians to play bass. Having a prior track record of successful performances and band longevity out of Florida, Sean joined ALKI. The four have been playing in and around the Seattle area, and the West Coast, since spring of 2016.
ALKI is mixture of airy guitars, soothing synths, bombastic drums, and swooning vocals. Their sound has been said to be a mixture of Coldplay and The Police, complimented with flavors of Daft Punk and M83. All four guys are transplants from various cities and countries, but together are proving to be a perfect fit.
