Where do I start? Martina McBride is hands-down the best female vocalist in any music genre today. She and Reba are in a class of their own. But on to the show. The first opening act was Luke Bryan. He performed about 25 minutes - I was a little bored. Next opening act was Blake Shelton. Another great country voice. Interacted well with the crowd but only played about 45 minutes - was a little disappointed he didn't sing The Baby. But, that was all okay because I came to see not Luke Bryan, not Blake Shelton, but the incomparable Martina McBride. From the moment she hit the stage I was in another world. I was in Martina's world and I loved it. She did a great job making me feel like I was a part of something big, I mean really BIG! This was the last city of her tour and she gave us 150%. No excuses that she played three nights in a row with ours being the final night. When she spoke, I could sense a little hoarseness in her voice, but when she sang...oh, when she sang, it was AMAZING. Set list was great. A mix of old and new. She performed all of the songs I was expecting and then some. When she and the band left the stage for the first time, I had no idea what she would sing for her encore. Like I said, she sang it all during the show. I was pleasantly surprised when they hit the stage for the encore and did Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer". She then closed the show with Bryan Adam's "Summer of 69". Everyone was on their feet for the entire encore. It was electric and I am still pumped up from the show. This was my 4th time seeing Martina in concert and she just gets better every time. I can't wait until she comes back to the Charleston or Columbia area. I will definitely be there. E.A.
