Son of country music pioneer Hank Williams, Hank Williams Jr. is considered to be one of the first to infuse old-style country with rock n' roll, creating a new genre of crossover music recognized as "Southern Rock". Hank began his career following the footsteps of his father, but changed gears when a life-changing experience of falling off the side of a mountain occurred. After that, a blend of Country, Blues, and Rock were prominent in his style. Hank Jr. is also the father of Hank Williams III, who has recently rose to prominence crossing the genres of Country and Punk Rock.
