The Freedonian Municipal Band Biography
The Freedonian Municipal Band is a twelve piece Rock Rock n' Roll Big Band from Chicago, Illinois. Their musical styles range from Jazz and Blues to Americana and Psychedelic Rock, all delivered in a not-so-traditional large group format. Their live shows feature a large catalog of original material, comedic interludes, and cover songs by request from the audience. The members of the band all met through the Northeastern Illinois University Jazz program, and have played together in different ensembles since 2009. With influences ranging from the Jimmy Lunceford Orchestra and Charles Mingus, to Chicago and Jack White, The Freedonian Municipal Band always put on a diverse show rich in comedic entertainment and musical variety.
