Lazerdisk is a brainchild of New England natives, now LA transplants Chad Bechard and Zack Johnson whose comparable music tastes paved the way for a fruitful production partnership. Having dabbled in a plethora of genres since their formative years, the duo is cultivating an electric hybrid of old school hip-hop meets melodic video game inspired sounds and future house influence.
Lazerdisk's breakthrough came early in their music career when a collaboration with world-renowned tastemaker Diplo was born on the track "Set It Off" and sparked an outpour of global attention and commercial endorsements. This taste of achievement has been a blessing within a creative spectrum; instilling a hunger for diversifying their production prowess that's left an imprint across Mad Decent, Fool's Gold, OWSLA's "Nest" Initiative, and Dim Mak record labels with more upon the horizon.
The duo has some major heat in store for us heading into the new year while balancing live performances and planning an early 2015 European tour. Official remixes for hyperactive, 8-bit group Anamanaguchi's "Endless Fantasy" and blossoming experimental beat-maker Lido is scheduled for release this fall, with a forthcoming Lazerdisk EP consisting of original material with an eclectic list of collaborators in the works.
