To get us started, I wanna tell a story about how I got where I am. I grew up in Miami Beach, Florida in a house full of music. My father is a record producer and kept his studio in our house as far back as I can remember. My room was just above the studio and I used to fall asleep to the sound of the bass coming through the walls. To this day I still find it harder to fall asleep without some kind of sound going on. I guess you could say it was inevitable that I'd get into music someday, but for a long time it didn't look that way. At various points in my life I've wanted to be a basketball player, an actor, a pirate and a pro wrestler.
It wasn't until high school that I heard Abbey Road by The Beatles and realized that I wanted to write and sing my own songs. I started to collect vinyl and learned as much as I possibly could about my favorite bands and artists. I got into Powerpop, Soul, Brazillian Psychedelia, English Folk, Jazz and everything in between. My first band was called The Dropouts. It was just me on a keyboard and my friend Boz on didgeridoo. I've been through several incarnations since then, only to find myself here on my own, making an album that seems to be the culmination of everything I've done up till now. You're going to read, hear and see a lot on this page about the album that I made, which is called "Homesick", but before we dive in I felt it was important to give you a little bit of back story so you know where I'm coming from.
This new project is easily my favorite piece of music I've ever done, and I can't wait to share it with you.
