The Moody Blues are an English band originally from Erdington in the city of Birmingham. Founding members Michael Pinder and Ray Thomas performed an initially rhythm and blues-based sound in Birmingham in 1964 along with Graeme Edge and others, and were later joined by John Lodge and Justin Hayward as they inspired and evolved the progressive rock style. Among their innovations was a fusion with classical music, most notably in their seminal 1967 album Days of Future Passed.
The band has had numerous hit albums in the UK, U.S., and worldwide. They remain active as of 2009. The Moody Blues have sold in excess of 50 million albums worldwide and have been awarded 14 platinum and gold discs.
I love The Moody Blues! They have been one of my favorite bands along with The Eagles, The Bee Gees, and other bands who really know how to sing having great voices and singing songs you could really understand. The 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's were the best of the best. I got to see them when the came to Cleveland, Ohio. Wish they'd come back here.
Great DVD but lousy live show. Over amplified with crackling background noise and little separation of instruments which resulted in a monaural sound. Save your money and stick witha dvd and a decent sound system.
THE MOODY BLUES ARE AN EXTRAORDINARY BAND. IN THESE DAYS OF NUMEROUS BANDS, THIS ONE DELIVERS ENTIRELY WHAT THE AUDIENCE WANTS EVERYTIME. THEIR MUSIC IN PERSON SOUNDS JUST AS IT DOES ON THE RADIO AND IN THEIR RECORDED VERSIONS. BEFORE YOU SPEND ANOTHER DOLLAR, HEAD TO A MOODIES CONCERT AND LISTEN CAREFULLY TO THEIR LYRICS. THEY ARE FAR AHEAD OF THE TIME AND CONTINUE TO PAVE 'A BETTER WAY IN LIFE'.
