Rob Thompson is a singer/songwriter and guitar player from Swansea, South Wales. After forming bands in France and London, Rob first found success as a founder member of critically acclaimed band "The Storys", who's debut album he co-produced.
Impressed by the production values and songwriting skills, Sir Elton John invited the band to be special guests on his U.K. tour. Rob,with "The Storys" went on to tour with Sir Elton in the U.K., Europe and Scandinavia for the next two years. This fantastic experience led to further support slots with act as diverse as Suzanne Vega and Santana, festivals in America and Europe, Glastonbury and sharing a stage with Joe Walsh, Steve Winwood and Bill Wyman at the Roundhouse London.
Rob's songs and voice can be heard in the american teen drama "One Tree Hill" and number one box office film "The Bank Job" with Jason Statham, in which he also briefly appears!
His recording career has included working at Abbey Road studios with the late Eric Woolfson from "Alan Parsons Project" and with Kate Bush producer Jon Kelly at Peter Gabriel's Real World studios. He was also a member of the Prog/Pop band Chimpan A.
"Dust is Rob's debut solo album and showcases not only his abilities as a lead singer and songwriter but also his unique guitar playing skills.
In 2012 Rob played guitar and helped out with songwriting and backing vocals on the new album "Closure" by Storys bass player and singer/songwriter Andy Collins.
Rob is currently working on his second solo album.
