Emily Kinney (born August 13, 1985) is an American actress and singer. She is best known for her role as Beth Greene in the AMC television series The Walking Dead.
Emily Kinney was born in Wayne, Nebraska on August 15, 1985. She graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2006, and thereafter moved to New York City, where she began her acting career.
Emily Kinney made her Broadway debut in Spring Awakening, as Anna, in 2008. In 2009, she also appeared on the first national tour of Tracy Letts' play August: Osage County as Jean Fordham. Kinney has had recurring roles and guest appearances on television series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order: SVU, The Good Wife, and The Big C. She was cast as Beth Greene in the AMC television series The Walking Dead in 2011. In 2013, Kinney was promoted to the main cast of The Walking Dead alongside Chad Coleman and Sonequa Martin-Green.
She spent two years as a blogger, writing about her experiences as a young actress in New York on a blog hosted by Back Stage. The blog was discontinued in late 2012.
As a singer, Kinney released her first EP called Blue Toothbrush in 2011. Kinney released a second EP, Expired Love, on October 22, 2013.
Kinney is a vegetarian.
