Matt Butler first gained notoriety as the lead singer of the New York based band Reckless Sons. With the release of his debut solo album "Reckless Son", Butler reveals the truth of his own personal transformation in his most candid and honest songwriting to date. The songs represent both the culmination of a chapter of Butler's life, and his launch into something new, brave, and uncertain.
Butler's debut is hook driven rock n'roll, completely sincere and massively energetic. An undeniable chemistry exists between Butler and producer Ben Rice (Owner/Operator of Degraw Sound, Brooklyn – The Skins, The Mooney Suzuki), reflected in the excitement and cinematic tension of key tracks "Sea Glass", "Triggerland", "Mission", and "Halfway By The River". Mastering by Dave McNair fully cements the sonic foundation of the album. The ambition of Springsteen, the wit and poignancy of The Replacements, and the aggression of The Clash can all be heard throughout the 10 tracks. Influences aside, it is Butler's storytelling that makes his music so compelling.
