Get Rachel Brooke songs and albums from:
Like so many of us, Rachel Brooke was born in the wrong time. Her classic style, and her simple and poetic songs fit much more snugly in an oval picture frame of tarnished metal and smoky glass than on CMT or Clear Channel pop country. She might be from Michigan, but this girl must have been touched with the songs and sentiments of the southlands and the weary West at birth. The Rachel Brooke brand of old school country soul is true, and doesn't even give a hint of fake, stereotyped molding to fit a style or genre that happens to be hip at the time. It flows out of her as true and vital as breath. In other words, this girl is the REAL DEAL! Her songs have that capacity to take you somewhere you haven't been for many many years, or to take you somewhere you want to be: in the depths of drunkenness and depression, or back home where all was right. Then she feeds it all through the effects of a warped record or an fuzzy AM radio to erase any tinges left behind by this modern antiseptic world with its polished existence, because the songs are not meant for this modern world or the people who dwell in it. They are meant for YOU,...the wayward soul rambling down the Lost Highway." -- savingcountrymusic.com

Get Black Eyed Vermillion songs and albums from:
BLACK EYED VERMILLION was born Gary Christian Vermillion in 1969 as the product of a one night stand between an unemployed circus freak and a jackal. Abandoned by his mother, he was adopted by a roaming tribe of Buddhist Monk street sweepers, eventually causing him to find inner-peace within the gutter. At age 7, young Vermillion fell into an open sewer. After being trapped for three days he was finally rescued; unconscious and badly hurt. When he awoke he could only communicate in swear words for a year and his voice was severely damaged from the septic fumes. He also sustained a head injury, resulting in his first set of black eyes which would lead to the nick name he still bears to this day. At 11 Vermillion set out to see the world but mostly saw it from behind bars. As he stumbled around the world from bus stations to bars to shelters to jails, he was always just lucky enough to cross paths with some of the most talented people in the underground music scene. Stevie Tombstone, One Armed Willie, Handsome Andy Gibson, Cornelious 'the Pain' Wickenburg, Joe Buck Yourself, Heathen Bill, Stix the Clown, Whiskey Dick and of course the legendary Shelton Williams the 1st were just a few of the people that would help him realize that he had absolutely NO musical talent! But they also taught him that it didn't matter as long as there was a song in his heart. These days Black Eyed Vermillion is being backed by The Vermillionaires; a solid line-up consisting of Fritz 'Burger' Nation and Johnny 'Sunshine' Johnson on Guitars, Kurtis D. 'Millionaire' Machler on Bass and Bircho Birch on Drums. Combining the elements of American roots music with the dark anger of punk and grindcore, they will be attempting to play as many gigs as possible, depending on everyone's ever demanding Rehab schedule.

Get The Ghost Wolves songs and albums from:
Austin, Texas based duo The Ghost Wolves met in 2011 backstage at a local music festival and have been an inseparable force ever since. To Carley (guitar, vocals) and Jonny (drums, keys, vocals), Rock N' Roll is an intangible spirit, an expression of creative freedom more than a binding genre. Their sound is a blend of punk rock, delta blues, garage, pop, noise, electro and death-western, their live show having been described by one fervent supporter as "The Cramps meeting up with The Ramones and taking all the cocaine Hasil Adkins left on the floor."
Since their beginnings in an Austin living room rehearsal space in 2011, the band has been extremely busy. They have toured almost constantly - playing nearly 1000 shows in 15 countries across the world. In 2014 they traveled to Tokyo, Japan at the invitation of cult Japanese fashion line Hysteric Glamour, where they performed for a sold out crowd at the brand's 30th anniversary celebration. In 2016, platinum selling Finish goth-rockers The 69 Eyes brought them to Europe to be the opener on their "Universal Monsters" tour, exposing the young Texans to their largest audiences to date. The band has also had much success in the film and TV licensing world - their music being featured in movies and shows by Netflix, HBO, MTV, Showtime, and Alamo Drafthouse, among others. Recently, Carley was invited by Noel Wells (Masters of None, SNL) to be a supporting actor in her new feature length movie "Bury The Cat."
A one string guitar and minimalist drums lay the foundation of their second full length album, TEXA$ PLATINUM. Produced by Mike McCarthy (Trail Of Dead, Spoon) in Austin, Texas, this sophomore release captures the duo rapidly expanding their horizons and exploring the depths of their dynamic range. The record is both explosive and mysterious, the band shifting gears effortlessly between bombastic guitar riffs, scratchy acoustic cuts and slow-burning muddy grooves, a genre bending experience entirely their own. The 14 track LP will be available on German label Hound Gawd! records in late 2016.

Get Catl songs and albums from:
catl is a Toronto, Canada three-piece who've created an original blues sound that's been described as "raw," "primordial" and "warped." Given their history of punk-influenced rock 'n' roll (catl in Pecola; drummer Johnny LaRue in The Exploders and No No Zero and organist Sarah Kirkpatrick in Shitt Hottt), such descriptions come as no surprise. Apprenticing at the ghost hand of Mississippi Fred McDowell, catl (songwriter, guitars, singer) favours a '40s Gretsch Electromatic played through a vintage Fender Twin, and sings through a low-end mic wired to an old Ampeg amp. With Johnny LaRue on drums, and Sarah K delivering on organ, percussion and backing vocals, catl serves up a stripped down sense of simmering urgency. No fancy bells or whistles, catl is a juke-joint party that'll lift you up like a Sunday morning sermon in the swamp. www.myspace.com/catlmusic

Get Stoned Evergreen Travelers songs and albums from:
Stoned Evergreen Travelers hail from the Pacific Northwest, turning bar rooms and club stages everywhere they play into boot stompin', hootin' hollerin', get down and get dirty if you wanna party parties that put hands together, smiles on faces, and fists in the air. Their unique brand of hellbilly metal combines elements of outlaw country, blues rock and honky tonk with that of stoner rock, heavy metal, gypsy punk, and thrash... you could describe it as sounding something like Hank Williams meets early Metallica with a bit of a Gogol Bordello flavor to it. With their name in the billing alongside a veritable smorgasbord of different types of bands, from sludge metal masters like Crowbar to acts like Hayseed Dixie and performers like Bob Wayne, their audience is as diverse as the influences detected in their music, and the wide range of styles among the bands they play with.
Vocalist and lead guitar player Kevin Pfefferle, aka "Handsome Pepper," channels the wizardry seen in his long white beard through his fingertips, to the strings of steel, as he shreds his way through blistering guitar solos and riffs that make you want to move as much as they make you want to rock the most ferocious air guitar you've got. At the same time, his vocals go from moody renderings of dark poetry and haunting stories of murder, to powerful rants and angst-fueled tirades both the working man and the anarchist can get behind.
Quite likely the most badass chick you'll ever see on the upright bass, TJ Demots pounds out the low end with exceptional skill - hard, solid and heavy, whether she's beating the strings with her hand or shaking the ground below as she pulls the bow across 'em. While she has your bones rattling from the inside, drummer Jeff Greer, known as Frey McGregor, keeps your ride interesting, injecting dynamics and thoughtfulness into the high-octane fury of the power he pours into this psycho-driven, hellfire guzzling hot rod's engine.
Like the siren wailing atop this Mad Max movie soundtrack-worthy machine, Mischa Kianne saws the hell out of her fiddle like she took it from the devil himself when he went down to Georgia, right after she cut him off at the crossroads, distracted him with a kiss, and then kicked his ass and snatched it right out of his hands. From fast, furious shredding to beautiful, emotion filled, soulful singing on the strings, plunging into dark and chilling sonic landscapes that make the hair on the arms of even those with the blackest of hearts stand on end, she takes a far less than traditional approach to the instrument. Infusing her no-rules fiddle action style with a variety of influences, she draws inspiration from her love for living legends like Charlie Daniels and dead legends like Johnny Cash, to younger dead legends like Randy Rhoads and Dimebag Darrell.
Stoned Evergreen Travelers want to show you a world where tales of the evil, the murderous, the scorned, the angry, the lonely and the stonedly, all screaming, brooding, stalking, pounding and destroying, bringing general mayhem and vengeance, are vividly told against a backdrop of ass whoopin' rock n' roll hellbilly metal to melt your brain... and they want to make sure you enjoy your journey through it with 'em, just before they help you smoke all your weed.
