Get Tale Of Us songs and albums from:
Tale of Us are Berlin-based DJ and production partnership Karm and Matteo who are currently re-writing the rulebook for deeply moving, emotional electronic music. Together they share a sonic vision that pulls together elements of house and techno with influences from pop, nu-disco and even rock music. While all of their productions are instantly recognizable as Tale Of Us, these range from straight-up dance floor jams to low-slung ambient tracks and more abstract compositions. While both originally hail from North America, Karm was born in Toronto and Matteo in New York, they moved to Italy as children, which is where they met and formed the close working bond that they now share.

Get Adriatique songs and albums from:
Both living in Zurich, each regularly performing as DJ's, and both named Adrian S., perhaps it was inevitable that Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer would meet in 2008 and form a near instant friendship. Perhaps it was destiny. But it's the professional bond that followed for which we are so lucky, a bond that would help them ascend the dance music community as the production and DJ duo known as Adriatique.
But inevitabilities aside, the basis of any great partnership is how one complements the other, which in the case of the Adrians, was evident from the outset. While one had honed his musical chops with House for the US and Detroit Techno, the other dwelled in deep melodies and European techno. One might gravitate towards the studio, while the other can't resist the temptation of the booth. One is blonde, the other? Colloquially known as "dark-haired Adrian." And it is the sum of many parts that gives us what we now know so well. In the world of dance music, where producers might spend a few nights DJ'ing and some DJ's may dabble in producing, their partnership has mastered both while bridging the perspectives of two varied backgrounds bound by the ultimate desire to forge a unique sonic signature and connect with the audience that shares in their deeply held belief that music is meditation.
Forging relationships with artists and labels that share in their sensibilities, Adriatique has released on Zurich's Cityfox, LA's Culprit, New York's Wolf & Lamb, London's Supernature, Canada's My Favorite Robot and most frequently, Hamburg's Diynamic, which first brought them to the forefront with "Deep in the Three." Building upon their hard work and an increasingly aware and receptive audience, Adrian and Adrian enjoyed a seminal 2013 when they debuted on RA's list of Top 100 DJ's and their exclusive podcast was voted Mixmag Mix of the Year, not to forget the standout Podcast for BPM. And having released standout tracks "Rollox" on Diynamic, "Space Knights" on Cityfox and the "Midnight Walking" EP on Culprit, 2014 has only seen a continuation of their ascension.
Ultimately, though, it may be Adriatique's presence at clubs in all corners of the globe for which they may be most loved, a joint approach to DJing hard to put to words but may be described as the work of true track selectors with a sound that's at once varied yet cogent, a journey of choice tunes that are techy or deep, contemplative or energetic, constant tension and release that leaves jaws on the ground and dancing legs sore. They are staples of The Cityfox Experience events in New York City, in Ibiza for the last three years, notably Diynamic's outdoor Parties and Festivals, and have earned a well deserved appearance at Time Warp Holland in the winter of 2014, all the while maintaining a tireless schedule the world over. It's hard not to stay tuned to what they bring next.

Get Daniel Avery songs and albums from:
"The one thing I knew was that I wanted this record to be a trip. When I go out, I want to give myself up to music. That was the idea for the album."
If the main motivation whilst making Drone Logic was to take the listener on a hi-fidelity trip for the duration of his debut album, then Daniel Avery emphatically succeeded. From Water Jump's hypnotic pulse and punch through to the crystalline click of closer Knowing We'll Be Here via the title track's elemental acid swirl and New Energy's take on Neon Lights relocated to a post-midnight cab ride through London, Avery's debut pushed and pulled at the senses and blurred the boundaries between dance floor and home listening experience. Released on Erol Alkan's wildly psychedelic Phantasy label, reviews were unanimous in praise: "A mesmerizing debut" (Mixmag); "In a league of its own" (NME); "Exceptional" (The Times); "One of the finest techno albums of the year" (The Quietus); "Underground dance music with this much ambition hasn't been heard in quite a while" (Resident Advisor); "Avery owns this space" (Pitchfork); "A benchmark for so many other dance albums to aspire to" (Dummy).
Its success has been furthered by the fact that Drone Logic doesn't really fit expected templates of what a dance record today should sound like. There are no set piece vocals; when voices emerge on tracks, they are invariably disembodied, odd. And as distortion whips across techno-based backing tracks, it splices modern club music with the kind of sounds that forward thinking guitar bands might conjure up. The result is wholly compelling, gloriously transcendent and one that immediately struck a chord with club DJs, from heads of state to the best of the new class.
Coming off the back of his massively lauded FABRICLIVE 66 compilation, many of Drone Logic's first steps took place from the DJ booth out onto the dancefloor of that very London clubbing institution. Whilst Avery claims that his music is affected by every stop on a relentless tour schedule, one that earned him 32nd position in Resident Advisor's DJs of 2014 poll, his debut was a record very much conceived in fabric. It seems natural, therefore, for his residency to be taken one step further with Divided Love, a quarterly curated night:
"fabric is my home and I'm proud to be a resident; the club has been with me from the beginning. Divided Love is about presenting acts who are doing something special...sonic souls, faith affirmers, music for the mind..."
The night, now expanding across Europe and beyond, can be seen as a direct extension of Avery's new radio show on another of the capital's underground mainstays, Rinse FM. A chance to push mind-expanding sounds from a myriad of places beyond straightforward club music, it is another platform for Avery to "bring this music together. Something is happening at the moment."
Culminating the cycle of Drone Logic, and as he begins work on his sophomore record, Daniel Avery expands on his wide reaching world with a carefully curated album of remixes from the artists with whom Avery's forward facing electronic style shares the deepest affinity. New Energy [Collected Remixes] is an album featuring reworks from Rødhåd to KiNK, Factory Floor to Powell, Silent Servant to Roman Flügel, Perc to Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve and stands as a testament to the strength of the current state of affairs in electronic music, borne out of one of its most original talents.
Whatever happens next for Avery...that's going to be the real trip.

Get Pan-Pot songs and albums from:
Pan-Pot is the name of the Berlin-based techno duo, German DJs and music producers Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix.
Since their launch in 2005, Pan-Pot have established their presence in the modern techno scene, reaching popularity with the release of their debut album, Pan-O-Rama, on Anja Schneider's Mobilee label.
Their music repertoire is best defined as underground-oriented and yet independent of any existing genres of contemporary sounds, traversing techno and house but having experimental elements with strong IDM influences.
The duo are credited with producing live sets combined with vocals that are described as revealing a deep understanding of the dancefloor needs of clubs and festivals.
Tassilo and Thomas met in 2003 at Berlin's SAE Institute where they studied audio engineering. There the two producers completed their studies in sound production and design, which helped them in defining Pan-Pot's sound aesthetic when they started producing music together.
In 2005, the duo booked Anja Schneider for one of their events, which coincidentally gave them the opportunity to establish a favorable connection with her then nascent Mobilee imprint. After a few weeks the label launched their second release, which was Pan-Pot's official debut, "Copy and Paste". Since then a steady stream of tracks and remixes have been released on Mobilee and Einmaleins Musik.
The defining moment of Pan-Pot's career came in 2007, with the release of their debut artist album, Pan-O-Rama. Tracks such as "Charly" and "Captain My Captain" became hits, which made the artists known for their blend of melodic and plain techno and house.
In 2014, Pan-Pot launch their own imprint, Second State, moving into a new chapter of their career.

Get Ben Klock songs and albums from:
Berlin born DJ, producer and label owner Ben Klock is without a doubt one of the most significant characters in techno's recent history. A resident at Berghain since its opening in 2004, he has been able to leave his mark on the club's unique sound, in turn the special space influenced Klock's approach as a DJ and producer as well. Playing techno sets full of hypnotic, deep and heavy grooves, releasing records on Ostgut Ton and last but not least the aesthetics of his own label Klockworks (founded in 2006), have earned him an excellent international reputation over the last few years. Supported by stringent and enthralling tracks, remixes for such diverse artists as Kerri Chandler, Martyn or Depeche Mode, the revered debut album "One" on Ostgut Ton and his Berghain mix, Ben Klock's name is synonymous with the vitalization of an essential definition of techno. His music is free of crippling nostalgia and rather wins you over with consistency, tension, and dynamics and time and time again with a sensibility, one would usually expect from house music. In this vein, Klock pursues an unexacting fusion of quantum jumps and tradition - including effortless melodies or hook lines. Being able to harmonize this method of industrial austerity, natural musicality and an impressive physicality is Ben Klock's great art and skill. And of course his monthly marathon sets at Berghain that escort all what's being said with pure sound and consistently motivate Ben Klock to skip the trapdoor called routine.

Get Richie Hawtin songs and albums from:
Richard "Richie" Hawtin (born June 4, 1970, Banbury, Oxfordshire) is a Canadian electronic musician and DJ who was an influential part of Detroit techno's second wave of artists in the early 1990s and a leading exponent of Minimal techno since the mid-1990s. He is best known for his abstract, minimal works under the alias Plastikman.
Hawtin is known for DJing minimal techno sets making use of laptop computers and digital mixing equipment. In May 1990, Hawtin and fellow second-waver John Acquaviva founded the Plus 8 record label, which they named after their turntable's pitch adjust function. In 1998, Hawtin launched Minus records.
Hawtin was born in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England, but moved when he was aged nine to LaSalle, Ontario, a suburb of Windsor, Ontario, and just across the river from Detroit, the birthplace of techno. His father worked as a robotics technician at General Motors, and was a fan of electronic music, introducing his son to Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream at an early age. He has one brother, Matthew, who is a visual artist and ambient music DJ. Hawtin attended Sandwich Secondary High School in LaSalle. He began to DJ in clubs in Detroit at 17, and his early style was a mix of house music and techno.
With Canadian DJ John Acquaviva he formed the label Plus 8 in 1990 to release his own tracks under the name F.U.S.E. He spent part of 2002 and 2003 living in New York City, and has since moved to Berlin, Germany. He said, "I'd always wanted to move to Europe. I needed somewhere that was inspiring and where there were like-minded musicians and artists, somewhere you could still experiment with music and with life. Berlin is so liberal in so many different ways; there's an amazing club scene, there's a great development software tech scene, there are so many resources here."
Hawtin has recorded music under the aliases Plastikman, F.U.S.E., Concept 1, Forcept 1, Circuit Breaker, Robotman, Chrome, Spark, Xenon, R.H.X., Jack Master, Richard Michaels and UP!. He also recorded and performed, in combination with other artists, under group names such as The Hard Brothers, Hard Trax (with his brother Matthew Hawtin), 0733, Cybersonik (with Daniel Bell and John Acquaviva), Final Exposure (with Joey Beltram and Mundo Muzique), Just For Fun (with Holger Wick), Narod Niki (with Akufen, Cabanne, Dandy Jack, Daniel Bell, Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, Robert Henke and Thomas Franzmann), Two Guys In The Basement (with John Acquaviva), Spawn (with Fred Giannelli and Daniel Bell) and States Of Mind (with Acquaviva).
He was the mastermind of huge raves in the Detroit area, he ran several club nights, a yearly party at City Club and a sold out show at The Necto (nightclub) Additionally, Hawtin and Pete Namlook collaborated to produce the From Within series of albums which blend minimal techno and ambient. He has also released an album Sounds of the Third Season with Sven Väth.
In 2006, Hawtin collaborated with choreographer Enzo Cosimi on a composition called "9.20" for the Winter Olympics opening ceremony. He said, "Enzo and I are very much interested in pushing boundaries, both as artists and for our audiences. Working together for the Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Games delivers the creative endeavor to not only entertain a huge audience, but to also introduce them to sights and sounds that they may have never experienced before."
Slices magazine launched a series of biographies in 2007 called "Pioneers of Electronic Music"; their first issue was a 60 minute biographical documentary on Hawtin. The film follows his career from his early days crossing the border to Detroit to his current life in Berlin, and contains interviews with many colleagues and family members.
2011 saw the release of Arkives 1993 - 2010, a massive box set containing everything Hawtin has released under his Plastikman moniker, as well as a new mixed set and previously unreleased material. The collection includes CDs, vinyl, digital downloads and a DVD.
In 2012 Hawtin worked with Loco Dice and Ean Golden in promoting Electronic Dance Music on a tour of North American universities entitled CNTRL: Beyond EDM, which included music production seminars, lessons in the music business, and live music performances.
Hawtin dismisses speculation as to the demise of dance music. In a 2009 interview he said, "In the last few years, the interest in electronic music has gone back up, the quality of the music has gone back up, there's a buzz which reminds you of the early days," he insists. "From where I'm sitting right now, dance music is more vibrant than ever. In some countries you'll always have the press saying it's going down and writing it off, but somewhere else the interest level is soaring and people are discovering this music for the first time, like in South America, where it's completely kicking off – it's unbelievable down there. There are some great festivals and parties in Europe, and over the last five years I've seen Ibiza go from complete cheesy shite music to the resurgence of a number of different types of progressive electronic music."
In November 2013, Hawtin performed as Plastikman at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City. This performance inspired him to finish a new Plastikman LP. "It put me back in the studio and inspired me enough to work on new material, and in five days I created a new album," he said. The album will be released in 2014.

Get Seth Troxler songs and albums from:
In accordance with Mayan prophecy, Seth Troxler was, in fact, a gift to the world of techno by intergalactic demigods from the distant future. Rumours that Seth Troxler is actually an alien are untrue; in the early first century these demigods kidnapped the virile first-born child of a Roman centurion and his Egyptian trophy wife. After years of travelling around the western end of the Milky Way studying linear algebra, Byronic verse, city planning, and the essentials of electronic music composition, these demigods lost young Seth to the Old God Horus in a game of trans-dimensional backgammon. Before Horus could consume his soul, disguised as Freemasons, they managed steal the young Seth back, and fearing the wrath of Horus, hid him in the Mid-Western town of Kalamazoo where he was raised by a kindly Amish family.
Since then Seth has gone on to ignite the world of house and techno with a constant barrage of sultry vocal jams, in consecutive years got himself voted Number Three, Two and the number One in the Resident Advisor Top 100 DJ Poll, landed much-vaunted residencies at DC10 (Ibiza), Trouw in (Amsterdam) and Output (New York) and opened series of much-lauded pop-up restaurants around East London called 'Smokey Tails'. He has played many stellar international gigs, notably fabric (London), Panorama Bar (Berlin), Output (New York), Warung (Brazil), Womb (Tokyo), Tenax (Florence), Robert Johnson (Frankfurt), The Rex (Paris), Fuse (Brussels), The Electric Pickle (Miami), plus The Detroit Electronic Music Festival, Glastonbury, Coachella, Sonar and Burning Man. In the studio he has collaborated with such dance luminaries as Matthew Dear, Art Department, Tiefschwarz, Deetron, Subb-an, in addition to groundbreaking remix work done as Visionquest alongside fellow astral refugees Shaun Reeves, Ryan Crosson and Lee Curtiss, remixing artists like Tracy Thorn and David Lynch. 2014 has seen him team up with The Martinez Brother to launch their new Tuskegee label drawing attention on Afro-Latino American icons. In addition to this he's currently plotting two additional new imprints called Soft Touch, focusing on indie rock, and Play It Say It, putting out straight up dancefloor jams.
Troxler is currently in hiding in Ibiza, where he began his self-imposed exile from the United States after sleeping with then-Senator Barak Obama's wife. Seth will remain in Europe until his 33rd birthday, at which point he will ascend upon the Levant and battle his way westward as he reclaims his Kingdom. At least that's what some guy at Burning Man told us.
