Emma Ruth Rundle is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and visual artist based in Los Angeles. She has released two solo albums and is a member of Red Sparowes, Marriages, and Nocturnes.
Rundle was born and raised in Los Angeles together with her sister in a household where a lot of folk music was played. Her debut solo album Some Heavy Ocean was released on May 20, 2014 through Sargent House. It was co-produced by Chris Common and recorded at the Sargent House records studios. Rundle lived at the studio complex as an artist-in-residence for the period. The release was accompanied by a US tour with King Buzzo. Rundle suffers from adenomyosis, which in part inspired the material on her second album, produced by Sonny DiPerri. In October 2016 she released her third solo album, Marked for Death through Sargent House. In January 2017 a split EP with Jaye Jayle entitled The Time Between Us, was announced for a February release with the song "The Distance" made available on streaming platforms.
She cites Kate Bush and David Lynch as an influence.
