    T.I. sentenced to another 11 months for violating parole

    Rapper T.I. has been sentenced to another 11 months in prison for violating his parole when he was pulled over and busted for possession last month. He had apparently talked a would-be jumper down from a building, but that didn't soften the judge's punishment at all. He is expected to be re-incarcerated by Nov. 1st.

    Eyedea of Eyedea and Abilites dead at 28

    Minnesota-based rapper Eyedea, of Eyedea and Abilities passed away over the weekend. He was only 28, but his career spanned 10+ years of success. Eyedea first rose to cult-hero status when he took first place at 1999's Scribble Jam MC Battle, then the 2000 Blaze Battle, catapulting him from a virtual unknown to an underground phenomenon. Signing to hip-hop collective Rhymesayers, Eyedea and Abilities released three full-length albums. Details of his death had not been released as of press time.

    George Michael released from jail

    Embattled pop singer George Michael has been released from jail after serving 4 of the 8 weeks he was sentenced to after crashing his car into a shop in London while high on marijuana and prescription drugs.

    Michael, who said he "just wants to start over", has also been fined 1,250 pound and lost his driver's license for 5 yeears.

    Ozzy Osbourne not pleased with Westboro Baptist Church

    The self-proclaimed Prince Of Darkness has come out against the hate-mongering Westboro Baptist Church for their use of his hit song Crazy Train during a press conference. Ozzy Osbourne released the following statement in regards to the incident: “I am sickened and disgusted by the use of ‘Crazy Train’ to promote messages of hate and evil by a ‘church,’". Ozzy has not said as of yet whether he will take legal action against the church.

    Gayngs' tour bus stolen en route to Austin City Limits Fest

    At approximately 4:30am en route to the Austin City Limits Music Festival (as well as their final tour stop), slow-jam rockers Gayngs reported their tour bus, with all gear and personal belongings on board, stolen. The bus's driver was not able to be reached, and the band's crew made the initial report to police. The band is expected to reschedule their Austin date.

    Whitney Houston allegedly back on drugs

    Whitney Houston is reportedly using drugs again, as she has just canceled the first three dates of a sold-out UK tour after landing herself in the hospital in Paris. Eyewitness accounts have been provided of the singer supposedly "sniffing a powdery substance out of a plastic bag". The troubled singer has also recently looked frail and sickly.

    Zakk Wylde hospitalized with blood-clotting

    Black Label Society front man and former Ozzy axeman Zakk Wylde has been hospitalized mid-tour due to blood clotting in his leg. Wylde had previously been diagnosed with a blood clotting problem in early 2009. Zakk is expected to make a speedy recovery and continue touring on schedule.

    Singer Mario arrested for assaulting mother in Baltimore home

    Singer and Dancing With The Stars contestant Mario has been arrested and charged with assault for allegedly "pushing" his mother. Mario's mother, who has had drug problems in the past, had appeared on an MTV special with the singer, where he staged an intervention for her. Mario was charged with second-degree assault and released on $50,000 bail.

    3-D to begin spill-over into music videos

    Since 3-D has taken mainstream movies by storm, with the wildly successful Avatar at the top of the list, musicians have begun to lean toward production of full concert videos in 3-D as a new way of marketing their music. Already in production are 3-D concerts of Black Eyed Peas and Justin Bieber.

    Avatar's director James Cameron believes this will be a whole new facet to the music industry.
